Her staff, whom we met at the wedding, were all very warm and helpful.
She handled all vendor negotiations (with the venue, catering, DJ, floral, photography, hair and makeup, and more) and contracts on our behalf. Truly, all we had to do was show up and get married.

“Ashley is truly a dream to work with. I am so glad I listened to my gut and hired her as our full service wedding planner. I was the type of bride that thought I knew everything there was to plan a wedding when in reality, I didn’t know all the little details that actually went into the process. Those little details add up and was very overwhelming but have no fear, Ashley was there to not only save me from the stress but guided me through the process with ease.
After meeting Ashley, I knew she was going to be more than a vendor to us. She soon became our newest and best hype girl, radiating with positivity and always made us laugh. Any concern that I did have before the big day, she made a priority so that I wouldn’t need to stress. She is an amazing advocate for everyone in the wedding process.
I remember after one of our first meetings Ashley asked me what was most important to us for our wedding day and one of our answers was that our guests had the most fun and best experience. We wanted our guests to walk away being wow'd saying "best wedding ever" and Ashley definitely ensured this happened with all the compliments we have got about our wedding and how flawless it was!

Ashley and her team have the professional, calm vibe you want on your wedding day. My wedding dress had a bunch of wrinkles even though we had had it steamed, and Ashley steamed it by hand right before the ceremony. And apparently there was a small electrical fire at the venue during our event, but we didn't find out until the next day because everyone was cool as a cucumber.

“If Alston Mayger Events (Ashley) were a restaurant she would be MICHELIN STAR. I truly dont know where to start with this review, but if you are reading this HIRE HER. NOW. DON’T WAIT. I was an unconventional bride who had a clear vision and opinion for my big day, but truly nowhere to start. I didnt "think" I needed alot of help, but quickly learned that even if you only want a small percentage of help, or a TON of help, hiring the right person is CRITICAL! I had alot of fear and doubt about having a wedding, and even more fear and doubt about finding someone to help me.
I met Ashley through a PDX virtual wedding show and I set up a meeting with her shortly after. About 5 min. into our call I knew I found not only the right person for the job, but seriously someone I could see myself being friends with or have known for a long time. Ashley was precise, professional, knowledgeable and has established the most trusting, wonderful and genuine relationships with other industry professionals and vendors. Her reputation preceded her as anytime I mentioned who I was working with, all the responses were extremely positive.
I believe that our vendors (Ashley included) truly went the extra mile for me because of their passion for the work that they do and knowing that Ashley was managing the event—she was instrumental in every aspect of my wedding in the most invaluable way. This is a thankless job in a thankless industry, but there was never a day where Ashley fell behind, missed the mark or failed to deliver. She is results oriented, passionate, honest and dedicated! “I’d give Ashley a 100/100 if possible. My partner and I are pretty non-traditional people but we really wanted a wedding to join our family and friends together and since we got engaged in 2020 it was super important to make it an intimate yet fun experience for everyone. From the moment we first video chatted with Ashley I knew we were in good hands.
We started planning our wedding while I was finishing my last year of college out of state and we also don’t live in the greater Portland area but Ashley made sure things were organized, met our needs, and reassured me when I had doubts that our day wouldn’t look as beautiful as I had envisioned it.
Our wedding was July 30th and when it came to the day of we were even more stressed because it was 101 degrees out but we had many conversations beforehand to prepare for the worst. Even as all my guests, myself and husband included, were drenched in sweat none of us cared about the heat. All anyone could talk about was how stunning our venue looked, how delicious the food and drinks were, and how friendly all the vendors were.

Ashley goes above and beyond to prioritize your well being and your ability to enjoy yourself as a couple, scheduling in time to have a bite to eat (it's harder than you think!) and time to spend with one another as a couple to take a breather and reflect on what getting married is all about. As others have noted here, when working with Ashley, your other vendors will continuously tell you just how amazing she is to work with, and if some kind of act-of-god incident happens on your day, you won't even know about it because she's just that damn good! You know you hired the right person when your wedding guests can't stop talking about how smoothly things are running and how jaw-dropping and stunning the space is.
As a type-A bride, I never thought that it was possible to spend our wedding day fully present and in the moment, but thanks to Alston Mayger we were in a state of bliss and relaxation all weekend without ever encountering a moment of stress. It's not often in life that you meet someone that redefines their industry by being so truly excellent at their job, but that's the level of professionalism and thoughtfulness that Ashley provides.”
