a modern-day wedding filled with romantic florals in oregon’s inviting countryside | redland family farm

Inspiration lives where we least expect it: absolutely everywhere. When Rithy Tamba of RT Faith Photography, Jodi of Jodi Iverson Florals, and Ashley of Alston Mayger Events toured Redland Family Farm in Oregon City with couple Dani and Alejandro, inspiration came swiftly for the team to create an event inspired by the bride’s elegant emerald ring and echoed by the venue’s modern and relaxed country atmosphere. Redland Family Farm, typically a Christmas tree adventure destination for families in Oregon City, just recently opened an event space to accommodate the growing need for wedding venues. It’s a perfect mix of modern, classic, and timeless. “Luxury lives in the details,” said Ashley Lachney, Owner of Alston Mayger Events, “You have a 300 year old oak tree here, with fully lit branches that illuminates your event as it heads into the evening hours, views for days, and an incredible event and getting ready space for you and your guests.” Whether your event is large or small, the versatility of Redland Family Farms can adapt with ease to fit any aesthetic. It’s truly a hidden gem.

A thoughtfully classic, yet modern party filled with details straight out of nature came top of mind quickly. Ashley worked closely with Tracy Amos to choose boutique rentals from Great Jones NW. She paired a vineyard chair with stunning place settings, crystal candlesticks, and two upholstered chairs to sit at either end of the King’s table. Linens from Nuage Designs had a subtle pattern that Ashley likened to Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra collection. An emerald napkin wrapped around each entrée plate kept the pop of the couple’s color story consistent throughout the table.

As the table started to take shape, bride Dani enjoyed a pampering worthy of the most luxurious of events with Vicky Stana of Blossom & Beauty. Vicky and Dani decided on a soft glam look for makeup, accentuating Dani’s beautiful features. “The high, dressy ponytail is what you’re seeing in all the high fashion magazines right now,” Vicky said, as she created Dani’s look, “It’s very Vogue, and with the ‘modern garden party’ vibe Dani is after for her wedding, this was absolutely perfect.”

Brittany Hampton of Letters & Dust arrived onsite to ensure delivery of a fresh invitation suite and details to be photographed. Along with paper goods, Brittany also provided other items. Each place setting was punctuated with luxe details like acrylic place cards, a linen custom menu for each guest, and each guest’s own chocolate bar from Storyboard Delights. Each chocolate bar was custom wrapped in a linen paper featuring the Alhambra pattern, and punctuated with a wax seal in the couple’s signature emerald hue.

As Dani + Alejandro arrived onsite to take everything in, a high point was obviously Jodi Iverson’s floral design and execution. The ceremony space held an ample blank canvas to feature a floral aisle with two modern black wrought iron standalone screens; each of them adorned with creative floral design on either side. Over at the reception, the long king’s table featured arrangements in modern, low-profile vases to let the blooms speak for themselves. “We used a mixture of seasonal blooms and ranunculus to create a modern color palette that would really accentuate the emerald that inspired their day. Though it is Spring in the Pacific Northwest, this vibrant color palette can transcend any season,” said Floral Designer, Jodi Iverson. “During the ‘season of staying home’, I spent a lot of time in my own garden planting and dreaming of using these blooms one day for an event. I was ecstatic to be able to contribute the hellebore and tulips from my own backyard.”

In photos, it was important to Dani and Alejandro both to feature their style as a couple framed in the beauty of the day. “It was so important to us that we have an event that was bespoke to us and felt like us,” said Dani, “We’ve been inseparable since our first date – which was a miracle in and of itself, since it took three tries for us to actually meet in person.” Alejandro laughed as he added, “Redland Family Farm just made sense with how unexpected and ‘out of nowhere’ it feels. You’re driving past all of this scenic farmland and then boom – we have this beautiful place with ample parking and no noise or hustle and bustle of the city. It’s an incredible property without sacrificing a modern touch.”

“My favorite part of Dani’s Martina Liana gown is the architecture it features in the front. Like, who knew fabric could move this way?” gushed Rithy, the couple’s photographer. For fashion and practicality, Dani chose a pair of Bella Belle shoes in a swiss dot pattern with a sweet tulle bow on the heel. Alejandro wore his own black suit + velvet tuxedo jacket. It was the perfect complement to Dani’s understated pearl jewelry from Kasa Kasama, which supported the stunning pop of emerald adorning her ring finger – a custom engagement ring from Hutcherson Goldsmithing. “Having Rithy on board to capture these kinds of details was a must,” Planner Ashley Lachney said, “She has an incredible eye for knowing exactly what couples want to look back and remember in the years after their weddings.”

After the ceremony, guests were treated to food from Black Star Grill and delicious, personal cakes from Hedonish Desserts. “It was important to Dani and Alejandro that their guests felt safe at this event, so we came up with the idea of individual cakes which minimized the touch points of plating a larger dessert,” said owner Stacey Choi. As the evening wore on, the reception table was struck, providing a stunning dance floor framed by two outdoor fire pits at Redland Family Farm. Dani and Alejandro danced the evening away with their guests under the stars.
