gray bridge venue wedding

This was such a fun wedding! I mentioned earlier how fun it is when “one of your own” ties the knot in the wedding industry, but how about when it’s one of your own groomsmen?!

Spencer and my husband Garrett met in college at WSU, and even roomed together for a little while. When Spencer proposed to Emilie and they asked me to help with their wedding, it was obviously a resounding yes.

Tying the knot at the beautiful Gray Bridge Venue in Sultan, WA, this beautiful October day started with hair and makeup via Off White Beauty for the ladies in the beautiful suite onsite. While I set up alongside catering and the venue owners, Stacey and Matt, we enjoyed the crisp air as the season was just starting to turn. (And after that hot Summer, we were grateful!) Gray Bridge Venue has a few resident kitties that roam the property, so we all took turns getting to know our furry friends as the day progressed.

Spencer’s twin brother Sam gave one of the funniest speeches I’ve ever heard, that may or may not have involved jail. Emilie’s Dad gave one of the most heartfelt and caring speeches I’ve ever heard (we were all crying!) and then Spencer followed it up with more laughs to get everyone ready for dancing with DJ Justin Murta.

My favorite feature of this venue is the layout. It makes it so incredibly easy on your vendors when your guests have a bit of a ‘flow’ to where each piece of the evening is taking place at. At this venue, the dance floor is over the bridge, leaving the cocktail hour, reception, and ceremony space to be easily torn down while the rest of the celebration occurs. Why is this great? At the end of the night, final cleanup is a breeze, and everyone gets to go home a little earlier than originally anticipated.

Sending Spencer + Emilie off at the end of the night through a tunnel of bubbles after their private last dance was so fun for all of their guests. The two spent a few days post-wedding at Willows Lodge in Woodinville to unwind + recoup.
