cozy scholls valley lodge wedding

When Diana had her first initial consult with me, we knew it was a mutual match made in heaven. She’s got a Russian Blue (mine lives with my Mom because husb is deathly allergic), her fiance Phil was part of the Penske racing team (I come from a racing family, and my grandfather was a flagman once upon a time!) She was also after what she coined as “an elegant rager”, and that’s now a term I use to describe most of the celebrations my clients throw.

Dressed in diamond whites and hunter greens, Diana and Phil’s day started with a cozy ceremony inside Scholls Valley Lodge due to the weather. We later relocated outside to the reception space to host dinner with White Pepper Catering, Lux Sucre Desserts, and Stumptown DJs. True foodies at heart, Diana and Phil took their menu curation very seriously, and also included menus at each guest’s place setting. On the opposite side of the menu were their favorite recipes for guests to take home; a fun play on the ‘eat now, make later’ vibe they were going for.

Though rain alternated on and off throughout the day, Diana and Phil’s smiles simply could not be dampened. One of my favorite details that Diana made for their wedding was the Hot Wheels escort wall, where each guest had a hot wheel car attached to an acrylic piece stating their name and table assignment. Watching everyone retrieve their car was so fun, and Diana and Phil were thoughtful in what vehicles they assigned to whom. (Mine said ‘The Rescuer’, isn’t that the sweetest?!)

At the end of the night, we brought out the checkered flags onto the dance floor so Diana and Phil could put the pedal to the metal on their party. The evening concluded with guests who were staying over at the lodge + a massive pizza party. Seeing the light and celebration in both Diana and Phil’s eyes throughout this day was so heartwarming.
